An electric bike battery burst into flames while charging at a house in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, causing panic. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Mahesh Bhai, a resident in the district, had purchased the e-bike only 15 months ago for Rs 80,000.
Mahesh’s daughter had removed the bike’s battery and set it up for charging in their house’s gallery. Only five minutes later, the e-bike battery exploded, quickly escalating into a full-blown fire.
Locals, upon hearing the explosion, immediately rushed to Mahesh’s house, and brought the flames under control.
Mahesh Bhai raised concerns over the incident but was thankful that his daughter was not riding the bike when the battery exploded.
