Since the trailer of filmmaker Sharan Sharma’s upcoming film, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor was unveiled, the netizens cannot stop showering love and appreciation on the same. Something that has left these users surprised is a glimpse of the song ‘Dekhha Tenu’ which was incorporated in the trailer. For the unversed, the beloved verse “Dekhha Tenu Pehli Pehli Baar Ve” is a part of the song ‘Say Shava Shava’ from the Karan Johar directorial Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Karan Johar pens heartfelt note for upcoming song ‘Dekhha Tenu’ from Mr. & Mrs. Mahi
On Tuesday, May 14, Karan Johar took social media to pen a heartfelt note wishing the team of the film Mr. and Mrs Mahi, further fuelling up the speculation that the filmmaker lent the verse to the makers of the upcoming sports drama. He wrote, “This song is already echoing in all the hearts with just a small glimpse… and it carries on the purity of love that it did before… A song very close to my heart, soon to be yours from Mr. & Mrs. Mahi”. While it is originally picturized on the iconic Bollywood trio, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji along with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, the soft-melody of the peppy number is expected to play a key role in this upcoming romantic-sports drama.
Songs from the 2000s continue to be cherished, and this verse has been a fan favourite, often listed amongst the verses that deserve a complete song. The makers have given in to the demand of the fans and are excited to present the much-awaited track.
Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is set for release on May 31, 2024.
