Good morning and welcome to our live blog, bringing you the news you need to know on this warm May day from across the city and around Western Australia.
This morning Jesinta Burton has exclusively revealed the state government has partially settled a lawsuit by the family of Ms Dhu, the 22-year-old woman who died in police custody in 2014 after being arrested over unpaid fines.
The state won’t tell us what that payout is but it doesn’t let them off the hook completely.

Also making news today is our colleague over at 9News Perth Connor McGovern, who revealed last night that the City of Stirling wants to build a boardwalk between Scarborough and Trigg beaches.
Stay posted as we bring you more on that shortly.
I’m Cameron Myles, thank you for joining us as we bring you the news that matters to West Australians throughout the day.
