The entrance to the Palais in Cannes was closed briefly Saturday afternoon after a bomb scare due to a “suspicious item,” according to a news report.
Police officers shut down the street outside the Palais, and prevented pedestrians crossing in either direction. A specialist unit were observed inspecting a rucksack in the middle of the crosswalk, Screen International reported.
The Cannes Film Festival told Variety that they were investigating the incident.
