Melbourne is looking to move back into the top-four with a win over struggling St Kilda at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.

The Demons (6-4, 113.1%) have lost their past two games, the latest of which was an unexpected smacking at the hands of the West Coast Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Saints (3-7, 94.1%) have lost four of their past five games and continue to struggle to put big enough scores on the board.

MATCH UPDATES

The subs for today’s game are Taj Woewodin (Narrm) and Cooper Sharman (Euro-Yroke).

The Saints drew first blood through young gun Mitchito Owens, before Jacob van Rooyen got the immediate reply for the Demons.

In his first game of 2024, former Bulldogs Lachie Hunter worked hard to get on the end of a handball chain to kick the Demons’ second.

Hard nut Narrm midfielder Jack Viney converted his set shot to make it three in a row for the Dees.

Narrm spearhead Bayley Fritsch snapped truly to make it four in a row.

The Dees led 4.7 (31) to 1.0 (6) at quarter time.

“A first quarter masterclass… the ball movement has been super impressive,” Fox Footy commentator Kelli Underwood said.

St Kilda champion Nick Dal Santo said the Dees were going at “world record pace” given they had 22-8 inside 50s in the first term.

“It’s a complete demolition job,” Underwood agreed.
