Kangana Ranaut recently addressed a controversy that emerged after a picture of her with a man surfaced on social media. The man in the photo was mistakenly identified as gangster Abu Salem. Kangana, an actor-turned-politician and currently the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi Lok Sabha seat, clarified the situation through her Instagram Stories.

The actress-turned-politician shared a screenshot of the picture in question, in which she is seen smiling with a man. She wrote, “Desperate Congress officials are spreading this picture with the caption that I am partying with Gangster Abu Salem.” She further added, “He is not Abu Salem, and this picture is from one of the film promotion event parties.”
Kangana’s Political Activities
Kangana has been active in her political role as the BJP candidate for Mandi. Last week, she shared a series of pictures with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited Mandi on May 24 and addressed a rally. In one of the photos, Kangana was seen greeting the PM and handing him a red rose. During a public meeting, she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work under PM Modi’s leadership.
Kangana Ranaut’s Upcoming Film
On the professional front, the 37-year-old actress will be seen next in the film Emergency, where she plays the role of Indira Gandhi. The film is written by Ritesh Shah, who also penned Kangana’s previous film Dhaakad, which did not perform well at the box office. Emergency will feature a notable cast including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade in key roles. The release date of the film is yet to be decided.
