Pune Porsche crash: Rs 2.5 lakh recovered from man working for arrested doctor – MASHAHER

The Pune Crime Branch has recovered cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh from a man identified as Atul Ghatkamble, who worked for one of the two doctors arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence in connection to the deadly May 19 crash involving a Porsche car driven by a minor.

Ghatkamble was arrested on Monday, just hours after Dr Ajay Taware, head of the Sassoon General Hospital’s Forensic Medicine department, and Dr Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer of the state-run hospital were also taken into custody. The three have been remanded in police custody till May 30.

The minor was taken to Sassoon Hospital for a medical test at 11 am on the day of the fatal accident that claimed the lives of two software engineers hailing from Madhya Pradesh.

According to the Pune Crime Branch, Ghatkamble, who worked under Taware, took the money from Halnor.

The cash was recovered after the police questioned Halnor.
