KAJANG: A 16-year-old boy who disappeared during recreational activities at Broga Hill on Monday (May 27) has been found dead.
Sinar Daily reported that the body was discovered at 2.50pm on Tuesday (May 28) by a search and rescue team, according to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.
The department’s director, Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail, stated that the body was found 100m from the Broga Hill entrance gate.
“He was found unconscious and seemed to have suffered a fall from a cliff about 10 metres high,” Wan Md Razali said.
The teen was pronounced deceased at 3.42pm by medical officers from the Health Ministry.
Wan Md Razali said an emergency call was made on Monday at 4.08pm regarding the missing teenager, and a search operation was promptly launched.
The victim had become separated from his guardian and friends during the outing.
Rescue teams from the Semenyih Fire and Rescue Station, along with assistance from police, mountain guides, forest rangers, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, and the Serdang Volunteer Fire Brigade, were involved in the operation which spanned 1.5km.
“The sweeping method was used, starting from peak three down to the Control Centre, and the search continued until 2.30am on the first day,” Wan Md Razali detailed.
