Ameesha Patel recently excited fans by addressing the possibility of a sequel to the iconic film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai during an Ask Me Anything session on X (formerly known as Twitter). When asked about reuniting with Hrithik Roshan, Ameesha responded, “Well, all I can say is with confidence. When the ticket counters are mentally prepared for 60 crores plus opening… Tab I guess. That’s Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai 2 for you on screen that very day.”

Patel, who made her Bollywood comeback with Gadar 2, reprising her role as Sakina opposite Sunny Deol, has kept fans hopeful for another collaboration with Hrithik. The actress’s debut in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai alongside Hrithik Roshan marked a significant moment in Bollywood history, and a sequel would undoubtedly be highly anticipated.

Reflecting on the original film, Ameesha revealed some behind-the-scenes insights, including the casting change from Kareena Kapoor to her. Speaking with Bollywood Bubble, she shared, “Actually, she didn’t back out. From what Rakesh ji told me, he asked her to leave the film because they were having differences. And Pinkie aunty (Rakesh’s wife), said that they were shocked because the set was ready, and a replacement Sonia had to be found in three days, and crores of rupees (had been spent) on that set.”
The original film, which debuted in 2000, not only became a box office success but also secured a place in the Guinness World Records in 2002 for winning the most awards by a feature film, with a total of 92 accolades. Its captivating storyline, unforgettable music, and the celebrated on-screen pairing of Hrithik and Ameesha left a lasting impression on audiences, making the prospect of a sequel an exciting possibility for fans.
