Police have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murdering a woman who was stabbed to death on a Bournemouth beach.
Amie Gray, a personal trainer, died at the scene after being attacked on Durley Chine Beach last Friday.
A 38-year-old woman with serious injuries remains in hospital as she continues to “fight for her life”.
Dorset Police say the man from Croydon, London, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Det Supt Richard Dixey, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “The investigation has progressed at speed over recent days, which has now led to an arrest being made in London.
“Officers from Dorset Police intelligence and firearms teams worked together with colleagues from the Metropolitan Police to carry out the arrest.”
A 17-year-old boy from Lancashire was arrested on suspicion of murder but released without charge.
Gray, 34, from Poole, has been described as a beloved mother, wife and friend.

Tributes have been paid to the women’s head coach at Dorset Futsal Club.
Dorset Futsal Club posted on its Facebook page: “The club has received some truly devastating news.
“We cannot put this into words at this time and as a mark of respect to all those affected, we will not be posting anything new for the foreseeable future.”
Flowers have been left along the promenade, near where a police cordon was erected.

Following her death, friends and family of Gray have posted tributes online.
One person wrote: “She was always the kindest lovely young girl and continued to be so throughout her cruelly cut short life.”
Another added: “Fly high, Amie Gray, I’ll miss you so much. I feel so heavy! You were such a good friend and someone I could call about anything. A beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for all the laughs and memories I will cherish forever.”
