Watch: Rishabh Pant strikes pose in India’s T20 World Cup jersey – MASHAHER

Rishabh Pant posed in India’s latest T20I jersey as he looked ecstatic after donning the blue colours yet again. Pant wrote a heartfelt message on his Instagram post as he wore the Indian jersey after a long gap. The 26-year-old looked uber cool as he struck a pose alongside Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian team had their jersey photo-shoot session and the kit was revamped ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Pant took to Instagram to post some behind-the-scenes pictures from the India team’s photo-shoot. The wicketkeeper-batter expressed his gratitude for yet again getting a chance to represent India.

“Thank you, God. Wearing the Indian jersey fills me with gratitude, joy and pride. There’s no better feeling than getting a chance to represent your country,” Pant wrote on his Instagram.

Pant’s comeback journey

Pant will make a comeback to international cricket for India after almost 17 months post the car accident in December 2022. Pant made a miraculous recovery as he underwent 3 surgeries in his right knee after the accident. He had to go through an intense period of rehabilitation before making a comeback in IPL 2024. However, Pant defied all the odds and made a spectacular return for DC in the 2nd innings of his cricketing career.

The DC captain finished off the tournament as team’s highest-run score with 446 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 155.40 with 3 fifties to his name. However, he could not help DC reach the knockout stage of the tournament as the Capitals finished at the 6th spot in points table.

Pant had expressed gratitude to God for giving him a second life as he revealed his challenges during the recover period.

“The accident was a life-changing experience for me. When I got up after it, I wasn’t even sure if I would be alive, but God was very kind to save me,” Pant told on Shikhar Dhawan’s show on Jio Cinema.
“I couldn’t even brush my teeth for two months, and for six to seven months, I suffered with unbearable pain.”
“I couldn’t go to the airport because I was nervous about facing people in a wheelchair.”

Pant flew with the first batch of the Indian players to the USA as part of the 15-member squad. India will play their warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1. The Rohit Sharma-led team will kick off their campaign with 1st game against Ireland on June 5.
