On X, a user took issue with Hansal Mehta’s photo showing him kissing his wife. Hansal was quick to respond. Not pushing a woman, displaying misogyny in public.” His reply underscored a crucial distinction between affectionate expressions of love and acts of misogyny or disrespect.

A Love Story Decades in the Making
Hansal Mehta and Safeena Husain tied the knot in 2022, after 17 years together and raising two children. Safeena, the daughter of the late actor Yusuf Hussain, is a respected social worker and the founder of Educate Girls, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting girls’ education in India.
When announcing their marriage on social media, Hansal shared heartfelt reflections: “So after 17 years, two children, watching our sons growing up and chasing our respective dreams we decided to get hitched. As always in life this was also impromptu and unplanned. Our vows, however, were truthful and but for this little ceremony they would never have been said. Ultimately love prevails over all else. And it has…” This sentiment captures the essence of their long-standing partnership, rooted in mutual respect and love.
On the professional front, Hansal Mehta has a bunch of projects in his kitty including The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan. Meanwhile, he is awaiting the release of his production Dedh Bigha Zameen, featuring Pratik Gandhi, which is scheduled to release on Jio Cinema on May 31.
