A fire has broken out in Northampton town centre, with nearby residents told to keep their windows closed.
A 500m cordon has been put in place while fire crews work to tackle the flames in Bridge Street.
Northamptonshire Police advised residents and businesses to keep their windows and doors shut due to a “large plume of smoke”.
Angel Street, Derngate and Victoria Promenade are also closed in the town centre.

A spokesperson from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue said: “Due to a large-scale fire in Bridge Street, Northampton, in addition to Angel Street, Derngate and Victoria Promenade. There is no access via St Peter’s Way, Gold Street, Abington Street or The Drapery.”
A spokesperson from Northamptonshire Police said: “A 500-metre cordon has been put in place to allow fire crews to deal with the incident which has so far resulted in the closure of Bridge Street, Angel Street, Derngate and Victoria Promenade.”
