Three killed in crash along Johor’s Sultan Iskandar Highway – MASHAHER



JOHOR BARU: Three people were killed when their vehicle crashed into a trench along the Sultan Iskandar Highway.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Haizrul Rahmad said the victims are two women and a man aged between 28 and 35.

“The victims have been identified as Chu Wei Yean, 28, Aw Siew Chern, 35, and Chu Wan Rou, 31.

“The incident occurred at 7.20am on Saturday (June 1). The victims were travelling in an MPV which is believed to have crashed into the trench after the driver lost control of the vehicle,” he said in a statement.

All of the victims’ bodies have been recovered and all were pronounced dead at the scene.

“We deployed 12 personnel to the location with one fire truck, one rapid intervention motorcycle (RIM) unit, and one Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) van,” he added.

Meanwhile, Johor Baru North Deputy OCPD Superintendent Yusof Othman confirmed the case and said a statement would be issued soon.
