Rishabh Pant enjoyed a ‘makeshift’ golf session with Indian teammate Suryakumar Yadav at the team hotel in New York. The Indian team are gearing up for the T20 World Cup in their quest of ending the ICC trophy drought. Amid intense training sessions and net practice, the Indian players are making sure to have fun and have a memorable time in the Americas. Pant posted a special video on his Instagram, where he could be spotted playing ‘makeshift’ golf with Suryakumar.
In the video, Pant used his cricket bat as a golf stick and the hole was a paper bag. Pant took his shot and the ball landed into the paper bag. Both Suryakumar and Pant erupted with joy as they celebrated the goal point. The wicketkeeper-batter captioned the post, “What a ‘put’nership Suryakumar Yadav. Good energy. Wohooo.”

In the video, Pant and Suryakumar had donned the brand new T20I jersey and the latter had his T20I cricketer of the year cap on. It seemed like the players had a fun mini-golf session after India’s pre-tournament photo-shoot. Pant and Suryakumar showcased a brilliant display of bond and camaraderie between each other.

Pant made a return to international cricket in a memorable style. The flamboyant batter played at the No. 3 position and smoked 3 sixes off Shakib Al Hasan in the powerplay.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar was at his fiery best as he played a quick-fire knock of 31 runs from 18 balls with 4 boundaries. India went onto score an above-par total of 182 runs on a two-paced drop-in pitch. Arshdeep struck early with 2 wickets to put Bangladesh on the back foot as they were restricted at 122 runs in 20 overs.
India will face Ireland in their first game of the T20 World Cup at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on June 5.
