Lok Sabha election results 2024: Congress vote share sees significant jump, BJP count unchanged – MASHAHER

The vote share of Congress in Lok Sabha elections saw a significant increase this time as compared to 2019. With vote counting still underway, the grand old party’s vote share is 22.34 per cent, nearly 3 percentage points more than 2019’s 19.49 per cent.

In the BJP’s case, there has barely been any change in the party’s vote share this time so far.

The party got 37.34 per cent votes last time and 37.37 per cent in 2024, according to the Election Commission of India.

The Congress has also improved its performance this time in terms of seat share. While the party won only 52 seats in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it is moving past a 100 this election.

The INDIA bloc’s collective vote share this time is 42 per cent, while the BJP-led NDA got 45 per cent votes.

The biggest shockers by the INDIA bloc are in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The Opposition alliance is leading on 29 of 48 seats in Maharashtra and 39 of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, giving a tough fight to the NDA.

There is also a close fight between them in Telangana, Haryana and Rajasthan.
