A commemorative coin collection featuring Australia’s favourite animated canine, Bluey, is now available from the Royal Australian Mint.
The Bluey “Dollarbucks” – as money is called on popular children’s television show – are a collection of three colourful $1 coins.
One coin features the character Bluey on her own, the second has the Heeler family together, and the third pictures Bluey and her sister Bingo dressed up as The Grannies.
“We hope that through this new Bluey program we are cultivating the coin collector of tomorrow,” Royal Australian Mint chief executive Leigh Gordon said.
The collector coins will be sold individually or as a set.

True fans of the show will also spot hidden “long dogs” on the coins. “Long dogs” are hidden in the background of each episode and finding them has become somewhat of a sport among Bluey aficionados.
Due to the expected popularity of the coins, the Mint is encouraging people to register for an online ballot that closes at 8.30am Thursday, June 6.
The coins are available from the temporary mint coin shop and will also be sold by some licensed distributors.
The release of the coin collection comes after Tourism and Events Queensland launched a major $9.2 million international tourism campaign featuring Bluey and Robert Irwin on Sunday.
The marketing offensive – a first between Tourism and Events Queensland and the UK-based BBC Studios – comes ahead of the November 7 opening of Bluey’s World, an immersive experience at Brisbane’s Northshore.
The show’s Brisbane creator, Ludo Studio, was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024 last week.
