Tesco has issued an urgent recall for two brands of popular chocolate bars as they warned the products could pose a “possible health risk”.
The British supermarket chain has advised customers to return the affected items to the supermarket for a full refund.
The affected items include the 6 X 40g multipacks of Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars with a best before date of 28 February 2025, and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars with a date of 31 January 2025 or 28 February 2025.
According to the supermarket, there is a “risk” of peanuts not being declared as an ingredient after a mispackaging error.
As a result, the products are a considerable health risk to anyone who suffers from a peanut allergy.
A statement from Tesco reads: “We are recalling specific date codes of our Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g.
“Due to a mispack, there is a risk of peanuts not being declared as an ingredient in the product.
“This poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.”

The warning to shoppers comes just days after Morrisons withdrew a beverage from stores over fears of “explosions”.
Brew York is recalling Juice Forsyth on a precautionary basis following reports that cans have exploded due to over-carbonation.
The ‘tropical’ IPA, made with pineapple, mango and passionfruit puree, is stocked at Morrisons, who confirmed in an email that they are “withdrawing the impacted codes” from stores.
The FSA said: “If you have bought the above product, do not drink it as the can may explode.
“Please contact Brew York via [email protected] for a refund and replacement. Please avoid unnecessary handling of the product and do not return it to the store, instead, safely dispose of the product.
“For more information, please contact Brew York on 01904 848448.”
