Odisha assembly elections: Swearing-in ceremony of 1st BJP government postponed to June 12 | India News – MASHAHER



NEW DELHI: The oath-taking ceremony of the first BJP government in the state of Odisha has been rescheduled to June 12 from June 10, party leaders informed on Sunday. Party leader Jatin Mohanty said that the postponement was due to PM Modi’s prior commitments.
PM Modi along with the cabinet is scheduled to take oath on Sunday at 7.15pm.
The chief ministerial face is still the subject of speculation in the state.Suresh Pujari, a senior BJP leader and recently elected MLA, hurried to New Delhi, sparking rumors that he would be one of the leading candidates for the top position, according to sources.
Pujari, who won the assembly election from the Brajarajnagar, was elected to the Lok Sabha from Bargarh in the 2019 elections. His supporters claim that he was summoned to New Delhi to have talks with central leaders.
After gaining 78 seats, the BJP secured a majority in the 147-member assembly. The party, led by PM Modi, did not declare a candidate for chief minister before the polls.
