Delhi government prepares for potential increase in air pollution during summer – MASHAHER

The Delhi government will hold a meeting on June 13 to plan measures to control escalating pollution levels during summer.

Key officials from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), Environment, Forest, and other relevant departments will convene to review and develop the ‘Summer Action Plan’ aimed at combating summer pollution effectively.

The main points of the Summer Action Plan will be discussed in this meeting, on which the government will work in the coming days. On this basis, the Delhi government will launch many campaigns to control pollution.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that air pollution can increase in the Delhi-NCR during the summer season. Dust, vehicle pollution, and incidents of fire contribute to this.

“Through the Summer Action Plan, we will run many campaigns so that the people of Delhi can get relief from pollution. Also, we will ensure maximum public participation in these campaigns. Apart from this, we will appeal to the governments of neighbouring states to cooperate with us and adopt anti-pollution measures, so that not only Delhi, but the entire NCR can get rid of pollution,” he said.

Rai stated that the pollution control works done by various departments last year will be reviewed in the meeting on June 13. All the activities of last summer and after that will also be reviewed.
