Fardeen Khan recently returned to showbiz with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. In a candid interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen Khan revealed a funny anecdote from his early days in the industry.

Fardeen Khan on culture of script narration
The conversation began with the 50-year-old actor’s thoughts on bound scripts, a practice where actors receive a complete written script before filming. “The culture of narration was prevalent,” he reminisced, contrasting it with the current reliance on bound scripts. He acknowledged the value of script readings, stating, “It gives you a fair idea of how the director sees the film.” However, he spoke about the importance of bound scripts, believing they offer better preparation opportunities for actors.

The All The Best actor then shared a humorous story about a particularly challenging narration experience. He explained how he had just returned from a long overseas shoot, suffering from jet lag due to the significant time difference. Scheduled for a narration the following day, Fardeen admitted to dozing off repeatedly during the session.
“It was quite an intense story and I kept dozing off,” he confessed, even expressing surprise at times when he discovered he’d fallen asleep. He assured that the story itself wasn’t dull, but his exhaustion ultimately got the better of him. “After a couple of times, the person was like, ‘I think you are very tired,'” he recalled with a touch of embarrassment.
Coming back to his show Heeramandi, it started streaming on May 1.
