England came out with all guns firing in their Group B game against Oman in their T20 World Cup 2024 match on Thursday in Antigua. The defending champions rattled the associate nation for 47 in 13.2 overs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Oman’s 47 was the fourth-lowest total in men’s T20 World Cup history as Aqib Ilyas’s side was unable to handle the quality of the all-round England bowling attack.

Adil Rashid was the hero of England’s bowling effort as he took four wickets while pacers Jofra Archer and Mark Wood picked three wickets each as Oman’s innings lasted just 80 deliveries.
It was Oman’s lowest total in the T20 World Cup, 62 runs fewer than their previous lowest which came earlier in the tournament against Namibia. 47 was also the lowest total by a team against England in men’s T20 cricket.
England headed into the Group B game needing nothing less than a win to keep their Super 8s hopes alive. And Jos Buttler’s men put their best foot forward with the ball after their captain won the toss and opted to bowl on a bright, sunny morning in Antigua.
