With no more Thursday night fixtures for the season, Brisbane and St Kilda commence Round 14 on Friday night at The Gabba in a battle of 13th v 14th.

The Lions (5-6-1, 115.5%) are catapulting from a stirring win over the Western Bulldogs last Friday night, looking to close the gap further on the top eight after going undefeated in four of its past five games.

Meanwhile, the Saints (5-8, 93.3%) have won back-to-back games despite their Round 13 victory over Gold Coast coming in an unattractive affair at Marvel Stadium.

Chris Fagan will take an unchanged Brisbane outfit into Friday night’s crucial encounter.

“When you look at the Brisbane Lions right now, they are as primed as any team to make a charge at the second half of the year,” 287-gamer Leigh Montagna told Fox Footy’s First Crack Preview on Thursday night.

“I don’t want to hear any more jibber jabber coming from The Gabba, boys. I don’t want to hear any more excuses coming out of the Lions, because when you look at their team, they’re only missing four players from their starting 22 on grand final day.

“One of them, Deven Robertson, is by choice. They’re only missing three players now; Keidean Coleman, we understand, important player, (and) Lincoln McCarthy and Darcy Gardiner. Otherwise, they’re fully fit.

“I’m expecting them to make moves, and this is just a game they can’t lose. They cannot lose this game to a St Kilda side tomorrow night.”

Ross Lyon, on the other hand, swung four changes to the side that scraped home by three points against the Suns, bringing in Zaine Cordy, debutant Arie Schoenmaker, Zak Jones and Cooper Sharman.

Excluded were Dougal Howard (Injured), Jimmy Webster (Injured), Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (Managed) and Tim Membrey (Omitted).

The match gets underway at 7:40pm from the Gabba.

Watch it live on Fox Footy (channel 504), streaming on Kayo or via Hubbl, from 6:30pm.
