(FOX40.COM) — A body was found off the American River in Sacramento one day after several agencies responded to a call about a rafter who was swept away in the water.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sacramento Metropolitan District said several agencies responded to a call for an emergency rescue at the American River near the Clay Banks area. They were in search of a man who reportedly went missing in the river while rafting with a group.

On Sunday, the body of a man in his 30’s was found, according to Metro Fire. He was transported to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office which will determine his identity and cause of death.
