Earlier, in a press conference, Pradhan explained that students who received grace marks in NEET UG 2024 did so due to a lack of time. He announced that these 1,563 students have two options: retake the exam on June 23, with new scores issued by June 30, or accept their original scores without grace marks. Pradhan emphasized that there is no evidence of a paper leak.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) informed the Supreme Court that it has established a committee to re-evaluate the results of the candidates who received grace marks. The NTA has decided to cancel the original scorecards of these students and offer a re-test. The re-examination is scheduled for June 23, with results expected before June 30. The May 5 exam, held at 4,750 centres for about 24 lakh students, has faced allegations of question paper leaks and unjustified grace marks, leading to protests and legal actions in several courts.
