Power & Politics host David Cochrane will have an exclusive interview with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, airing Monday at 5 p.m. ET.
The interview comes as Trudeau returns to Ottawa from the G7 summit in Italy for the final week of parliamentary business before the House of Commons rises for the summer.
It’s a week that likely will test Trudeau’s party on a number of domestic issues.
The cloud of foreign interference still hangs over Parliament Hill weeks after the release of a committee report that says some parliamentarians have been “semi-witting or witting” participants in the efforts of foreign states to interfere in Canadian politics.
In addition, the opposition Conservatives are challenging the Liberals over their changes to the capital gains tax rate, with the Conservatives calling it a job-killing tax hike.
And a byelection in the riding of Toronto—St. Paul’s, a traditional Liberal stronghold, could test support for Trudeau’s government.
