Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf was in the eye of the storm after a video of his confrontation with a fan went viral on social media. Just hours after the video went viral, Rauf broke silence on the matter. The Pakistan pacer took to Twitter to put out his side of the story saying that the fan should not have verbally attacked his family.
Haris Rauf got into a heated altercation with a fan on Tuesday, 18 June. Rauf was caught on camera charging towards a fan, who seemed to be hurling abuses at the player. An agitated Rauf asked the fan if he was from India or not, to which the fan replied that he was from Pakistan.
“I decided not to bring this on social media, But now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” Rauf said on Twitter.
