Kalki 2898 AD has definitely taken social media by storm with the release, right around the corner. Ahead of its premiere, the makers decided to add to this anticipation by having the stalwarts Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan share the stage with superstars like Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in a beautiful event which was held in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Amid several interesting conversations, anecdotes, and revelations, Amitabh Bachchan showered love on Kamal Haasan by ‘presenting’ him with the first ticket of the film.

Amitabh Bachchan purchased the first ticket of the sci-fi drama on June 19, followed by which he invited Kamal Haasan on stage. He said, “I will give it to my colleague, my dear friend, my brother Kamal Haasan.” While the latter expressed gratitude over Big B’s kind gesture, Kamal also recalled an incident where he had to have a long wait before watching the iconic film Sholay featuring Amitabh Bachchan. “I waited three weeks to watch it. I never imagined I would be here receiving the first day first show ticket from Mr Amitabh Bachchan. I was a film technician then, and now I am an actor. Nothing has changed,” reminisced the megastar.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone won hearts as she arrived in a beautiful black outfit that accentuated her baby bump. The actress received much love from her male co-stars who ensured her safety not only while on stage but also when she was arriving and departing after the event. While the entire core cast of the film were present, hosting the event was yet another superstar and co-star of Deepika and Prabhas, Rana Daggubati.

Set against the backdrop of post-apocalyptic dystopian era, the film is a mythology-inspired futuristic drama directed by Nag Ashwin. The film, also starring Disha Patani, is slated for release on June 27 in multiple languages including all South languages and Hindi.
