Disney+ Hotstar drops the most awaited and entertaining trailer of the year with its twin drama series, Hotstar Specials’ Bad Cop. Produced by Fremantle India, directed by Aditya Datt and written by Rensil D’Silva the series is a complete mass entertainer and is set to stream exclusively on the platform, from 21st June 2024 onwards. Bad Cop has been reimagined for India by Fremantle India from RTL’s original German drama of the same name.
EXCLUSIVE: Anurag Kashyap on Bad Cop: “The series has a massy villain, massy hero, massy story”
Anurag Kashyap is ready to thrill audiences as Kazbe in his new series Bad Cop. He describes it as a fun and easy watch with a hero, a villain, and plenty of drama. A true mass entertainer for everyone!
Elaborating on the same, Anurag Kashyap said, “You can never really tell what works and what doesn’t. Some films are community experiences, some films are individual experiences. When you sit at home and watch a film with your family, a different kind of film works, but when you watch a show on your laptop alone, it works at a different level. When everyone sits and watches Bad Cop together with family or friends, it’s more fun.”
He added, “The series has a massy villain, massy hero, massy story. It’s an out-and-out commercial film. There’s no pretense about it. There are no complications; there’s a hero and there’s a villain. In today’s time, a hero is different and a villain is different, but in Bad Cop, the villain is a hero in his mind and the hero is the hero, that’s it. The gray areas work for the discerning audience while the mainstream and the masala audience want black and white because they know that everyone in the world is gray.”
