India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant achieved the remarkable feat of most dismissals in a single edition of the T20 World Cup during Match 43 of the ongoing edition of the tournament on Thursday, June 21 against Afghanistan. The 23-year-old took three catches in the game to dismiss Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Gulbadin Naib and Naveen ul Haq to take his overall tally to ten dismissals in the ongoing edition of the T20 extravaganza.

As a result, Pant became the player with the most dismissals in a single edition of the tournament with ten dismissals from four matches. The youngster left behind several legends in the list such as AB de Villiers, Adam Gilchist, and Kumar Sangakkara among others who have nine dismissals each to their name.

The southpaw has been in magnificent form with the bat as well being the highest run scorer for India in the tournament so far with 116 runs to his name from four innings at an average of 38.66 and a strike rate of 131.81. He started off with an unbeaten 36* (26) against Ireland in the first fixture followed by a cal knock of 42 (21) against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, India beat Afghanistan by 47 runs at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados to start off their super 8 campaign off to a winning start. After opting to bat first, the Men in Blue posted a massive score of 181/8 in their allotted in 20 overs.
