One of the most sought-after rucks on the on the market is set to shun rival interest.

AFL Media reports in-demand Suns ruckman Ned Moyle is set to knock back interest from rival clubs to re-sign with Gold Coast.

It looms as a big win for Damien Hardwick’s side given the heavy interest in Moyle, with the 22-year old believed to be keen to continue to develop alongside Jarrod Witts.

Moyle, who’s four years away from free agency, was reportedly viewed behind Tim English as the second best ruckman out of contract as clubs will now turn their attention elsewhere to bolster their stocks in that department.

The likes of Adelaide, Collingwood and Melbourne had all been linked to Moyle, who’s impressed in four senior appearances this season.

The 206cm Moyle has played six AFL games since being drafted by the Suns with a mid-season pick in 2021.

‘NO TIMELINE’ FOR BATTLE AS CLUBS CIRCLE

There’s “no timeline” on Josh Battle’s free agency decision, according to a manager from his agency, as the Saints swingman weighs up interest from rival clubs.

Battle, who’s about to become an unrestricted free agent, has interest from several teams including links to Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Collingwood and Melbourne.

It’s expected the 25-year old will draw lucrative offers given suitors wouldn’t need to trade anything to acquire him.

Speaking on AFL Media’s Gettable, Hemisphere Management’s Tom Seccull provided an update on where things sit with the 114-gamer.

“‘JB’ is having a fantastic year both behind the footy and even up forward at different stages,” Seccull said.

“Like all of these decisions, there’s a lot of variables that come into it and a lot of factors that influence decisions.

“Josh has just recently had his first child and he’s working through that. There’s no timeline on that at this stage, but (his manager) Alex McDonald is working really closely with ‘JB’ (Battle) and the club and I’m sure that will play out as the year goes on.”

Battle in 2022 signed a two-year deal to take him through to free agency.
