Diljit’s comments come amidst a controversy regarding his appearance in the movie Amar Singh Chamkila. However, Imtiaz Ali, the film’s director, clarified that Diljit wore a wig for the role. “Diljit wore a wig. That wig is like his turban only. He has not sacrificed a single hair for this film. He donned the look very sincerely and with very good intentions,” Imtiaz Ali explained, reassuring fans of Diljit’s continued adherence to his Sikh faith.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Amar Singh Chamkila is a biographical film about the iconic Punjabi pop star duo Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur.
