Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has kept us entertained for almost 15 years. Throughout its course, the show presented a number of unique and unforgettable characters. Tanuj Mahashabde plays one such figure, Scientist Krishnan Iyer, with great success. Aside from the amusing act, the character is well-known thanks to his wife, Babita Iyer. Tanuj previously mentioned that people pay him less importance in real life.
Tanuj has played Krishnan Iyer since the beginning of TMKOC. Munmun Dutta portrays his onscreen wife, Babita. They form one of the show’s most recognisable pairs and have been amusing the audience for years. Munmun is breathtakingly attractive, which has helped her character become highly popular. Her beauty can make men weak in the knees.
Tanuj Mahashabde has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to have an on-screen wife like Munmun Dutta. However, during one interview, he obliquely expressed his dissatisfaction with the public’s perception of his prominence in real life, stating that everyone is more interested in Munmun than him.
Tanuj Mahashabde was asked about his wedding plans. As he was discussing this, he commented, “Jab bhi mein bahar kahi jaata hu, toh jyadatar log yahi kehte hai ki Babitaji kaisi hai, koi yeh nahi kehta ki Iyer bhai aap kaise hai (Whenever I go out in public, most of the people ask about Babita’s well-being but no one asks about me).”
He has already mentioned Munmun Dutta as his wife in Taarak Mehta Ooltah Chashmah. Tanuj Mahashabde was questioned about his reaction to having a lovely lady like Munmun play his on-screen wife in one of the older interviews. The actor replied with a hilarious response.

Tanuj further added, “Not just others, but even I found it hard to digest that I am playing the partner of a beautiful lady in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
