U.S. dollar ticks up | The Star – MASHAHER


NEW YORK, June 21 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.2 percent to 105.796 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro dropped to 1.0695 U.S. dollars from 1.0711 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound declined to 1.2647 U.S. dollars from 1.2671 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 159.54 Japanese yen, higher than 158.80 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was up to 0.8942 Swiss francs from 0.8909 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3699 Canadian dollars from 1.3689 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar added to 10.5128 Swedish kronor from 10.4955 Swedish kronor.
