PETALING JAYA: The Canaries have conquered the Northern Derby!

Kedah etched a close win against Penang, beating them 1-0 in the Super League at the City Stadium in George Town on Saturday (June 22).

Substitutes Syafiq Ahmad and Ebenezer Assifuah proved catalysts when the former made a superb through pass, which was finished by the latter in the 77th minute.

The win also sees the away side snapping their two-game winless run in the league.

Home side Kuching City held Terengganu 1-1 at the state stadium in Kuching.

The Turtles got the lead through captain Safawi Rasid in the 50th minute, but the Cats snatched a point thanks to Yuki Tanigawa’s leveller in the 80th minute.

In the early kickoff, Johor Darul Ta’zim humbled Pahang 3-0 with Heberty Fernandes scoring a hattrick in the fifth, 67th and 87th minute at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri.
