Fremantle are sweating on an arm injury to Alex Pearce that saw the Dockers skipper come from the ground in pain late in the third term of Sunday’s clash with Gold Coast.
The full-back was involved in a marking contest on centre wing when Suns opponent Sam Day landed awkwardly on him.
Pearce went straight to the bench to be assessed by medical staff, and failed to join his teammates in the three-quarter time huddle. He was subbed out early in the final term, with the club confirming a left forearm injury.
The reliable defender has played 44 consecutive games and hasn’t missed one since being named Freo skipper at the start of last year.
Any injury setback would be a significant blow for the Dockers ahead of what looms as a defining clash at the SCG against likely minor premiers Sydney next weekend.
The Dockers led the Suns by 34-points at three-quarter time, with running defender Karl Worner injected into the action after starting as the sub.
