Producer Ramesh Taurani stated that the thriller franchise Race would return with a fourth installment. While the first two installments starred Saif Ali Khan, Race 3 had Salman Khan in the lead.
Ramesh Taurani sets the stage for Race sequel; says, “I can’t comment on whether Salman Khan will be part of it or not”
“The script is ready for the next Race instalment, we will announce the casting of the film soon. The cast will be new. I can’t comment on whether Salman Khan will be part of it or not. It will go on floors by the end of the year. It’s not decided yet who will direct it,” Taurani told PTI.
In Race, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, and Bipasha Basu had major parts. The second installment starred Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Both films were directed by Abbas-Mustan. Remo D’Souza directed Race 3, which starred Salman Khan. Bobby Deol portrayed the antagonist in the film.
Taurani has confirmed the sequels for Bhoot Police and Soldier. “We will also make a sequel to Bhoot Police and Soldier. “The official announcement will be made soon,” Taurani said.
Soldier, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, was one of the most successful films of 1998. Abbas-Mustan directed the action thriller. Bhoot Police, which was released in 2021, had Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor as protagonists. The film was directed by Pavan Kirpalani.
Ramesh Taurani also confirmed a collaboration between Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. “We are doing an entertainer movie with a love story and great music with Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. It will go on floors soon,” said the producer. He also stated that they have yet to cast the film’s female lead.
The producer is now working on Ishq Vishk Rebound, which stars Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grrewal. The film is the sequel of Shahid Kapoor’s Ishq Vishk. It is not, however, a sequel or in any way linked to the film.
Speaking about sequels about common, Taurani said, “The trend of sequels started in 2009-2010 with Race and Dhoom.” “People started making sequels from thereon. We believe one has to pay more attention to the script when you make a sequel because the original film has a brand value,” he added.
