During a chat with Siddharth Kanan, Ahmed Khan addressed the misconception that money might be Akshay’s sole motivator. “Look at Akshay’s work,” Khan stated. “Does he seem like someone who needs money to work? What’s the need for Akshay to work?” He further spoke about Akshay’s belief in cherishing every opportunity: “‘Kaam kaam hota hai,’ he says (Work is work). Every time you get a chance, treat it like your last job. Give it your all.'”
Akshay Kumar Learns from Failures, Not Dwelling on Them
Khan also revealed Akshay’s approach to setbacks. “He never opens up about his failures,” Khan said. “He only cares if he gave it his all. He only cares if he gave the film his 100%. That’s all he cares about.” This highlights Akshay’s focus on self-improvement and dedication to the craft, rather than getting bogged down by box office results.
Ahmed Khan Lauds Akshay Kumar’s Punctuality
Ahmed Khan further lauded Akshay’s legendary punctuality. Describing a typical pre-shoot scenario, Khan said, “Suppose we have a roll at 7 am, at 6:30 am I receive a call, ‘Sir, Akshay sir’s car is here. Sir Akshay sir is in the van, getting ready, Sir Akshay sir is asking if he should walk out; it is 5 minutes to 7.'” This anecdote perfectly illustrates Akshay’s professionalism and respect for everyone’s time.
Akshay Kumar Focuses on the Work, Not the Ego
Khan also highlighted Akshay’s humility. “Success and failure doesn’t affect him when he has reached before you and you have failed to come late, not that you have come late, you have come after him. He never even gets mad at you or makes you feel that you made him wait,” Khan said.
