Lakshya Kochhar is basking in the glory of the positive feedback for his portrayal of Rocky, a star-kid, in TVF’s Industry, streaming on Amazon Mini. Lakshya hails from Bhopal and his journey in the film industry has been his own effort and merit with no godfather or mentor. From his debut with Akshay Kumar starrer Gold in 2018 to bagging the role of Ajju Kadri in Excel Entertainment’s hit series Bambai Meri Jaan on Amazon Prime, Lakshya Kochhar has built his own trajectory consistently.
Lakshya Kochhar speaks on connecting with his character Rocky’s inner battles: “We all have to fight, be victorious”
Comparing his character, Rocky’s journey to his own in the show industry, Lakshya said, “Comparing my own journey to Rocky’s would be slightly unfair because everyone has their own unique path. When I started playing Rocky and preparing for the role, I realized that everyone has their own share of insecurities and struggles. What appears comfortable and rosy on the outside often hides constant inner battles. We all have to fight, be victorious, and survive. The narrative around this is important.”
He further added, “Acceptance in the industry is crucial. People want to be recognized for their abilities and what they bring to the table more than their family background or branding. This realization made me feel extremely empathetic towards Rocky. Overall, we are all fighting our own battles at some level, but of course, the show was a cinematic representation of inner struggles. The arc of the show, beautifully directed by Navjot Gulati and presented by TVF, resonates deeply because they have seen these characters around them all their lives. The beauty of the show lies in the writing.”
Industry by TVF has been Created by Navjot Gulati & Shreyansh Pandey. Written by Navjot Gulati, Shreyansh Pandey, Shreemi Verma and Girish Jotwani. Navjot Gulati serves as the director on the show and Arunabh Kumar has produced it. The show boasts of over 32 cameos from the film fraternity playing themselves ranging from Guneet Monga, Kunal Kapoor, Hansal Mehta, Abhishek Banerjee to Sumit Roy and Prosit Roy.
