Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal married on Sunday, following years of keeping their romance private. The pair married in a civil ceremony at Sonakshi’s Bandra home, which was attended by relatives and close friends. Several videos and photographs from the couple’s wedding and pre-wedding ceremonies have been posted online.

Sonakshi was seen wiping away tears in one of the videos when Zaheer’s close friend Jannat Vasi Lokhandwala placed a garland on her. Sharing the video, Jannat wrote, “My brother is married. Congratulations Paa and Sona. So happy for you.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer threw a lavish wedding celebration at Shilpa Shetty’s restaurant Bastian in Mumbai, which was attended by Bollywood’s elite. Sonakshi was seen wearing a red saree and sindoor in her first public outing with husband Zaheer Iqbal since their wedding. Prior to the festivities on Sunday, the couple enjoyed an intimate Mehndi party for friends and family on June 20. Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, attended the party as well.
Sonakshi and Zaheer released the first photographs of their modest wedding ceremony on Instagram on Sunday. However, the pair switched off their comment area after receiving a lot of criticism because of their interfaith marriage.
Sharing the pics, the newlyweds wrote, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever. Sonakshi Zaheer 23.06.2024.”
