Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller to Lead Hostage Series ‘Snatchback’ – MASHAHER

The “Prison Break” brothers are getting back together.

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are set as the stars of “Snatchback,” a series in development at Universal Television. Scott Rosenberg serves as writer and executive producer, while Purcell also executive produces via HopeTown Entertainment.

The official logline for “Snatchback” reads, “Inspired by the life of a real covert intelligence officer who is still active in the field today, the series follows a highly skilled privately contracted team of operatives as they recover hostages across the globe from some of the most exotic, and equally dangerous locations on the planet.”

Purcell and Miller led Fox’s “Prison Break” as brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield for four seasons from 2006 to 2009 followed by “The Final Break,” a TV movie that concluded the series before a revival was ordered; Season 5 aired on Fox in 2017. The pair also both appeared in the CW Arrowverse series “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow,” with Miller playing Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold and Purcell playing Mick Rory aka Heat Wave.

Besides “Prison Break” and the Arrowverse, Purcell’s credits include “Blade: Trinity,” “Killer Elite,” “Blood Red Sky” and “Straw Dogs.” Up next, he will lead the Paramount and Republic Pictures film “Cassino In Ischia.” He is repped by UTA.

Miller has appeared in “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Loft,” “The Human Stain” and “Madam Secretary.” He is also a screenwriter, having written the Park Chan-wook directed thriller “Stoker.” He is repped by Buchwald.

Rosenbaum is best known for his work as a writer and executive producer on “The Shield,” which ran on FX for seven seasons from 2002 to 2008. His other credits include NBC’s “Chuck,” Fox’s “Gang Related,” ABC’s “V” and and USA’s “Queen of the South,” serving as showrunner on the last title. He also created the pirate drama “Sandokan,” which is currently in production in Italy. Rosenbaum is repped by CAA, Range Media Partners and Paul Hastings LLP.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of this team with such talented individuals,” said Tish Cyrus-Purcell, founder of HopeTown and wife of Purcell. “Rosenbaum has crafted an emotionally charged and high stakes world where Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller reunite, bringing to the screen the extraordinary heroes of a real-life private hostage recovery team.”
