British police have not spoken to the two men who met missing teenager Jay Slater before he disappeared.
The 19-year-old flew from Lancashire to the Canary Islands for a music festival but disappeared after he went to stay with people he met during a night out on June 16.
During his final call to his friend Lucy Law at 8am local time last Monday, the 19-year-old said his phone had only one per cent battery, he was thirsty and he did not know where he was.
His last location showed he was in the Rural de Teno Park – an area popular among hikers. He has not been seen since and the search has entered its ninth day.
The two men he met at NRG music festival were spoken to by local police at the small cottage, in the village of Musca, where the three travelled back together.
Both men, who hail from Luton, Bedfordshire, have since returned to the UK. However, officers in Britain have revealed they have no intention with speaking with the pair.
Lancashire Constabulary said it will not pursue the men, despite growing concerns for the missing teenager as the second week of searching has begun.
Bedfordshire Police, which looks after Luton where the men live, will not seek to speak with the two, The Sun has reported.

London’s Met Police will also reportedly avoid contacting the two tourists.
Today marks the ninth day of searching for the teenager, with teams focusing on three different areas – the Masca Gorge, La Vica, and Las Portelas, as well as the surrounding Masca area.
Just hours before vanishing, Slater posted a picture at the house of “two English lads” which featured a hand holding a cigarette.
His mum Debbie Duncan also said a witness had told police they had seen Slater sitting on a bench with a pair of men, just over three miles away from the village of Masca.

A woman named only as Araceli, who works in the business adjoining the Casa Abuela Tina rental property, said: “I never saw the missing boy, but I know people saw him walking on his own. I saw the two British men who stayed here.
“They came in for cafe con leche a couple of times. One was aged about 40. The other one was slightly younger.”
She added: “The police have spoken to them both.”
Yesterday, CCTV footage of a “possible sighting” of the 19-year-old was released by his family. The figure in the video is sitting on a bench three miles away from where Slater vanished.
The image shows a male walking past a church in the village at around 6pm on Monday – 10 hours after friends reportedly last heard from him.
His family says the footage could possibly have resembled Slater.
However, the Guardia Civil has not confirmed whether the image is being investigated.
