Thiskidmad lemonade stand burnout video lauded by car lovers but slammed by WA Police – MASHAHER

Car nuts are lauding a pair of Kwinana-based social media personalities for their unique burnout video, but police weren’t impressed by the upload.

The video was posted by a content creator called Thiskidmad who has more than 100,000 followers on Facebook.

The video shows two young men sitting at a table in Medina laden with lemon-flavoured alcoholic beverages.

A sign saying “burnouts for a drink” is seen in front of the table and is carried down the street throughout the video.

It shows them encouraging passers-by to “smoke” their cars up on the way past.

The song Haters by Television Skies featuring rebellious lyrics plays throughout the video.

The footage shows the driver of a No Birds hire car performing a burnout before two dirt bike riders pop a wheelie as they go past.

The lemonade stand operators rate the driver of a Holden Commodore seven out of 10 for his burnout.

The burnouts continue throughout the day as the sky gets visibly darker throughout the video.

A Ford driver finishes up the performance with a burnout that nearly results in their car hitting a passing 4WD.

No one is seen purchasing the beverages in the video but a voice can be heard saying “all sold out” towards the end. In WA it’s illegal to sell alcoholic beverages without a licence.

When asked about the video, Cj Murray-Smith who runs the Thiskidmad account said the lemonade stand was something he did regularly.

Murray-Smith said he was raising money to get to a skid competition in Darwin but admitted the neighbours didn’t like the burnouts, calling them: “F…ing Karens”.

The video was briefly removed by Facebook but restored soon after.

The Thiskidmad account is banned from TikTok despite having more than 40,000 followers.

However, Murray-Smith’s father’s account THISDADMAD is still active on TikTok and has more than 73,000 followers.

Other videos show the pair performing burnouts at the Perth Motorplex and Bindoon Burnouts in a modified black Holden Commodore.

One video shows a friend having an interaction with the police set to the tune of The Benny Hill Show.

More than 80 people commented on the video with the majority supporting the behaviour.

“This is gold mate, should make it a regular random thing,” one wrote.

“I wish I lived close. I’d leave both me tyres at the end of your street,” another added.

A spokesperson for the WA Police wasn’t so impressed, though.

“Behaviours such as this are inherently dangerous, not only to those driving the vehicles but also to the passengers, spectators and anyone in the vicinity,” they said.

“Reckless driving will not be tolerated in our community. Anyone who engages in this type of activity will be investigated and charges preferred where evidence exists.”

Members of the public are encouraged to report reckless driving matters to police on 131 444 or via Crime Stoppers.
