Kareena Kapoor Khan’s mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore, recently gave her thoughts on the former’s hit film Crew. The actress co-starred with Tabu and Kriti Sanon in the film. The film is set against the backdrop of the aviation business and is completely amusing as they embark on a robbery. In a recent interview, Sharmila described the picture as ‘absurd beyond belief’.

Sharmila Tagore applauds female camaraderie in Crew
Sharmila lauded the camaraderie amongst the three female protagonists, Kareena, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, in an interview with Kapil Sibal on his YouTube channel, Dil Se Kapil Sibal. She said, “It is absurd, of course, beyond belief but there are three women pulling off this adventure. One is landing a plane, one is breaking a safe… doing all kinds of things together and the camaraderie between the three is excellent because they say a woman is a woman’s worst enemy, not so here.”
She also discussed how Crew became a commercial success and her desire to see more female-centric films. “The crew did an excellent job. Three ladies are accomplishing incredible things, and it has performed well at the box office. This will encourage a lot more filmmakers to develop women-centric films,” she said.

Crew, a heist film, became a box office success, earning universal praise from critics and moviegoers alike. Released in March this year, the film had a phenomenal run in theatres. In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor discussed Crew‘s success and emphasized its significance in demonstrating that female-led films can succeed commercially.
Kareena Kapoor told PTI earlier that she was pleased with Crew’s box office performance. “It’s not about whether it’s a hero or a heroine taking on a film. It’s a person and (their) performance that takes the film and content (forward). We are going to keep trying to do that. I will always choose roles that are interesting but in the form of entertainment. I’m happy Crew has broken barriers. It started the conversation that women also can break box office rules,” she mentioned.

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor is preparing for her highly anticipated film Singham Again, which stars Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff in key parts.
