In recent interviews for his upcoming movie Rautu Ka Raaz, Nawazuddin Siddiqui delved into his latest character study of a “slow-footed” police officer from a quiet hamlet in Uttarakhand that is untouched by crime until a murder disturbs the tranquillity of the place.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui realized that “atmosphere speaks to an actor” while shooting with Irrfan Khan for a short film
Reflecting on his preference for shooting on real locations rather than sets, Nawazuddin said, “Atmosphere speaks to an actor and gives a kick that brings a natural appeal to the character. On the sets, it becomes a little mechanical… I realized it early in my career when I shot a short film with Irrfan bhai in the deserts of Jaisalmer.”
Nawazuddin has often expressed his deep respect for the late legendary actor Irrfan Khan. In several instances, he has spoken about the profound impact Irrfan had on his craft and how their time together, particularly in challenging environments, has influenced his approach to acting. Nawazuddin’s admiration for Irrfan is evident. Both actors are celebrated as some of the finest in their field.
Directed by Anand Surapur, Rautu Ka Raaz sees Nawazuddin play inspector Deepak Negi, who is investigating on a case. The film also stars Narayani Shastri, Atul Tiwari and Rajesh Kumar.
