A record that will likely never be broken in AFL history will come to a sad end this weekend when for the first time in 30 years Fremantle will play without an Indigenous footballer in their side when they take on Sydney at the SCG.
Injuries to captain Alex Pearce (broken arm) and veteran Michael Walters (hamstring) mean for the first time since their inaugural season in 1995 and only the second time in their history, the Dockers will go into an AFL game without a player of Indigenous heritage in the team.
