Pankaj Tripathi has addressed recent comments by fellow actor Pankaj Jha. Jha, who criticized the romanticization of struggles in the industry, had referenced an anecdote Tripathi shared about Manoj Bajpayee’s slippers.

In an interview with India Today, Tripathi clarified his perspective. “I never romanticized my journey or struggles,” he stated. He acknowledged mentioning his wife’s support during his initial years in Mumbai, but denied embellishing his hardships. “I never said I slept outside Andheri station,” he emphasized.
Tripathi highlighted the importance of personal experiences. “We live our own journeys and fight our own battles. When you read or hear these stories, some may get inspired. And even if they don’t, that’s not an issue. One has just to live their own lives the way they want.”
The Slipper Incident
The point of contention stemmed from an incident Tripathi recounted on The Kapil Sharma Show. He admitted to keeping Manoj Bajpayee’s slippers as a memento when Bajpayee, a then-guest, left them behind at a hotel where Tripathi worked.
Mirzapur Season 3 on the Horizon
While addressing the controversy, Tripathi is also busy promoting the upcoming season of Mirzapur. The recently released trailer promises a thrilling continuation of the power struggle in the fictional Purvanchal. Mirzapur 3 premieres on Amazon Prime Video on July 5.
