The Yankees scratched slugger Juan Soto from Saturday’s lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays with what the team is calling a right hand bruise.
Originally in Saturday’s lineup, the Yankees pulled their right fielder before the game started likely as a precaution. The bruise occurred when Soto slid into home on a rundown play in Friday’s game.
The Yankees announced Soto will under imaging later today in Toronto.
Soto has been an essential part of the 2024 Yankees.
The 25-year-old is slashing .302/.434/1.004 with 20 home runs and 60 RBI. He was the catalyst for the Yankees’ 16-5 win on Friday when his three-run home run put New York in the lead for good. The win snapped the Yankees’ four-game losing streak.
