“The Bear” Season 3 dropped on Hulu last week to mixed reviews, but that didn’t stop the hit FX show from serving up some of the best merch since the show first started. “The Bear” and J. Crew teamed up on a limited-edition capsule inspired by the kitchen fashion seen in Chris Storer’s dramedy.
The lineup of clothing, called the Matter of Fak Supply capsule, is based on one of the third season’s plot lines, in which handyman Neil Fak (Matty Matheson) has been promoted and his brother Ted (Ricky Staffieri) takes over as the “fix-it Fak.”
The headlining piece of the collection, which is available to shop on the J. Crew website and in stores starting today, features a canvas work jacket with a chain stitched Matter of Fak Supply patch on the back, as modeled by Stafierri himself above. Modeled after work jackets from J. Crew’s archive, the Wallace & Barnes classic is built with sturdy cotton and a plaid flannel lining.
The lineup also includes a heritage fleece sweatshirt, a vintage-wash cotton t-shirt and a trucker hat — all featuring the capsule’s namesake.
The third season of “The Bear,” starring Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, continues to focus on the team’s efforts to transform the gritty sandwich shop to a finer dining destination, which continues to present new challenges. “Now in the third season, I think we’re going to go back to that functioning kitchen atmosphere that we had in the first,” White told Variety earlier this year.
The newest episodes, which all dropped on Hulu last Friday, were met with mixed reviews. In her review , Variety TV critic Alison Herman wrote that Season 3 “takes a steps down in an aimless season that leans too heavily on star power.”
