A serial abuser who carried out a campaign of violent and sexual offending spanning more than two decades has been jailed for nine years.
Brian McGlashan, 57, preyed on three women between 1996 and 2019 at addresses in the Perthshire area.
He pushed one victim during an attack, held her over the water at the River Tay and threatened her.
The woman was left severely injured and permanently disfigured after being assaulted by McGlashan.
He also isolated a second woman from her friends, threatened to have her deported, damaged property, and broke a bathroom door lock during his abuse.
The “sexually depraved” abuser was convicted of two voyeurism charges after watching two of his victims in a state of undress.
McGlashan, from Perth, was also found guilty of two rape charges.
Judge Lord Young told McGlashan: “I have had the opportunity to read a victim impact statement from one of these women in which she describes the long-standing psychological effects that your coercive behaviour has had on her.”
McGlashan was last month convicted of eight charges following a trial at the High Court in Dundee.
Lord Young accepted what was said in McGlashan’s defence at his sentencing at the High Court in Paisley on Wednesday.
The judge stated: “I recognise that you are a first offender. You had a good work record until ill health intervened.
“I also accept that your intellectual level may make it harder for you to have insight into your offending and your ability to engage in rehabilitative work.
“You have a supportive family and appear to be seeking to overcome your issues with alcohol abuse.
“You do not enjoy good health and that is likely to make imprisonment correspondingly harder for you.”
McGlashan was handed a 13-year extended sentence, with nine years in jail and four years on licence once released back into the community.
He was also added to the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and banned from contacting one of his victims for 15 years.

Katrina Parkes, Scotland’s procurator fiscal for high court sexual offending, said: “Brian McGlashan is a serial abuser who has inflicted lasting trauma through his controlling, violent and sexually depraved behaviour.
“It is thanks to the bravery of his victims coming forward and speaking to the authorities that prosecutors were able to secure this conviction.
“McGlashan will now face the consequences of his actions which I hope brings some comfort to those affected by his abuse.”
Detective Constable Ranald Bowie branded McGlashan a “violent individual”.
He added: “My thoughts are with these women who showed immense strength in coming forward and assisting our investigation.”
